Valentines Day....bah humbug

What a crock of shit//valentines day...just another made up day from those great people at Hallmark and other various greedy companies that would much rather have you spend your hard earned money on trivial shit then pay bills, feed your family, or other pressing needs. As far as I'm concerned..if your mate or spouse or partner doesnt already know you love them, then LEAVE THEM!!!! If we all took that money we spend on Valentines day, which is estimated at over $10 BILLION dollars, and spent it on something truly worthwhile, such as ending poverty, global vaccines, AIDS, World Wildlife Fund, or something along those lines, I think this planet would be sooooooooo much better off!!!

Just imagine all the "productivity" at jobs and workplaces that are lost on this day!?!?!

I believe in LOVE just as much as the next person, but doing lil things ona daily basis is such a better way to show ones love then this BULLSHIT made-up day so many like to refer to as VALENTINES DAY!!!

CST & PST

Well when i started this i had PST as my zone but i guess i should put CST..so all that i post is in reality 2 hours later then what the blog says!! So 1pm would actually be 3 pm.

Now..do any of you know how or why we have the time zones here in the US of A?....

Well, I'll tell you!! We can thank the invention of the train for our time zones!! Way back when it was up to each and every states and town and village etc to pick which time they wanted to go by!! As you can guess,,after awhile this became rather confusioning to say the least! With the invention of the locomative, transportation between towns and cities became much faster, thus, it was decided that we [USA] needed to have a more uniform time system.

So after much thought and calculation, taking into consideration the angle of the Sun, speed of the Earth's rotation, geographical boundaries of the USof A our time zones were established so that trade and transportation and commerce in general would be more reliable and thus, the good ole US of A could sposper and become what it is today!!!

Now of course, there are still a few exceptions to this lil feat!!! Arizona for one, but that has more to do with daylight Savings Time then antyhign esle...Oh, there's a fcouple more , but right off hand i can't recall them! Anyways...so now you know how we got our time zones!!!!!

Kinda funny how this started out as my explaining why my posted times aren't really what the blog says...lol...next i think i might tackle why ketchup REALLY could be considered a vegatable {thank you President Ronals Reagan}.

"Herbs" & "Missouri"

I've never quite understood why soooooooo many people mispronounce these two words; herbs & Missouri!?!?!? First of allit's a Herb..with a fucking H before any other letter....thus, it should be HERB..not ERB!!..Why do so many people say the later?...OK, sure..I should lessen my inclusion of 'people' to Americans..cause..as Eddie Izzard once said... it's pronounced Herb, causeit has a fucking H in it!! I know a few British people and they ALWAYS pronounce it with the H..why is it we Americans don't?....

Now on to the next matter at hand..the Word "Missouri"...I love to watch the the "news Hour with Jim Lerher"..I've been watching it since back in the early 80's when it was called "The McNeil/Lerher News Hour".....it's on PBS for any of you that aren't aware of that...probally the single BEST news coverage on TV these days...Anywayz...i do digress..back to the word Missouri...

I was watching the News Hour the other night and Jim Lerher actually said Missour-A instead of Missour-I!?!?!?! ..I almost fellout of my seat!! Once again i don't see an A at the end of the word i see a fucking I!!! How could anyone pronounce that with the lower A sound vs an I sound?....It's as if these people choose purposely to either add a leter or subtract one!!

I just plain don't get it!?!? I guess those that live closer to the Kansas border tend to sai Missouri with an A sound and those closer to the Illinois border use the I sound. Shouldn't we all use the Webster's dictionary form of the word?..If that were the case then it would be the short I sound and also the H sound before the word Herb!!

I bet if we all took the time to correct those that mispronounce these 2 words we'd have alot less friends and could spend more time reading "Lord of The Flies". What fun that might be!!! GAG

Bipolar???

What does it mean to be bipolar?...well, ive known a few in my days that were actually diagnosed as Bipolar..and WOW!!!.....i think that women tend to be more so then men..at least that's what the stats show. I think as the years go by there will be many more that are coming of age or are already in their late 20's or early to mid 30's!

Often those that are might write it off simply as hormones or mood swings..but when the proclivity of them increases to where its a weekly and bi-weekly event i think it's time to call the ole local head Dr. Funny thing about it tho....is that those that are rarely realize it..and if they do well then, often finding the right meds takes years and years.

I've felt rather blessed over the years that i just have your usual neurosis and even that's barely noticeable...lol..I think, however, when it comes to friendships often they can be so symbiotic that neither party releases what they say and/or do..often it takes a neutral 3rd party to look objectively at....well.....i'll get back to this soon....somethings come up....:)...

Recent Elections

Well, the people of the US have spoken and hopefully those that were in favor of this absurd Presidency will take heed and finally do something about the bebacle thats happening in Iraq and alot of the other 3rd world areas on this Globe..i shall say more, but at present, I'll just leave this as a starting point...
